DreamOS ("we", "us") is made by The Unified Way. This page explains what information is collected when you visit this site or use the app, and what happens to it. The short version: your dream entries are stored so the app can work (your symbol dictionary and history need to persist between sessions), and the only other personal data we handle is what's needed to sell, deliver, and run the product.
What we collect
- Purchase details. When you buy through Gumroad, Gumroad and its payment processor (Stripe) collect your name, email address, and payment details. We never see or store your card number. Gumroad passes us your license key and, where provided, your email.
- Account data. Using the app creates an account token, which is how your credits, dream history, and symbol dictionary are linked together. An email address is attached to your account if you gave one to claim the free dream, or if it came through with a purchase. There is no password: the account token stored in your browser is what identifies you, and you can replace it at any time from the app (Profile, then Your data, then Sign out everywhere), which immediately ends access on every other device.
- Dream content. Your dream entries, the resulting AI interpretations, your symbol dictionary, and archetype tallies are stored on our infrastructure (Cloudflare) against your account token, so they're available to you across sessions and devices. We do not manually read your dream entries as a matter of course; they exist to make the app work for you.
- AI processing. To generate an interpretation, your dream text is sent to Anthropic's Claude API through our backend, and so are the dreams and journal entries a chapter of Your Book of Dreams draws on. This is necessary for the app's core function. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, Anthropic does not train its models on content sent through the API, and it processes it under its own API terms and data retention policy — see Anthropic's privacy policy.
- Analytics. We use privacy-focused analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) to see visit counts and which pages work. This does not build a personal advertising profile of you, and we do not run ad tracking (e.g. no Meta Pixel) on the site.
- Verification and support. To claim the free dream we email you a six digit code; the address is stored against your account and, separately, as a one way hash so the same address cannot claim a second free dream. If you send us feedback from inside the app we receive your message along with the screen you were on, the app version, and your browser user agent. If the app's safety check interrupts a session, we record only that it happened, on which screen, and in which version. We never record what you had written.
- Bot protection. The free dream form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that the request comes from a person rather than a script. Cloudflare processes limited technical data for that check under its own terms. It sets no advertising cookie and does not track you across sites.
What we do with it
- Run the app: store and retrieve your dreams, dictionary, and credit balance so they persist across sessions.
- Generate interpretations by passing your dream text to the Claude API.
- Deliver your purchase and communicate about your order.
- Send occasional product updates, if you've given us an email address. Any such email includes an unsubscribe link; unsubscribing never affects your access to the app.
- Measure site performance.
- Process refunds under our refund policy.
What we never do
- Sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
- Use your dream content for advertising, training unrelated products, or any purpose beyond running DreamOS for you.
Who processes data for us
Gumroad and Stripe (payments), Cloudflare (hosting, database, bot protection, and analytics), Resend (the transactional emails that carry your verification code), and Anthropic (AI interpretation via API). Each processes only what it needs for its role, under its own terms.
Your rights (UK GDPR)
Because we're UK-based, you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and ask us to export it. Two of those you can do yourself, immediately, without asking us: open the app, go to Profile, then Your data. Download everything gives you a JSON file containing every dream, session and report we hold for you. Delete my account erases all of it, your email address included. Two things are deliberately kept, with the link to your account cut: a one-way hash of the address that claimed a free dream, so that one inbox can't keep claiming it over and over, and the licence key from any purchase, so that a refunded key can't be redeemed again. The hash cannot be turned back into your address. You can also email theunifiedway1@gmail.com and we'll respond within 30 days. Note that purchase records may need to be kept longer for UK tax and accounting requirements even after an account deletion request.
Retention
Dream content and account data are kept for as long as your account is active, so the app can keep working across sessions. Deleting your account from inside the app takes effect immediately and removes your dreams, logs, journal, symbol dictionary, sessions and reports. Two things deliberately survive it: records required for accounting, and the record that a licence key has been redeemed, which we keep so a key cannot be used again after a refund. Neither contains dream content.
Cookies and local storage
The app uses your account token (stored in your browser) to identify your account on return visits — this is functional, not advertising, storage. Because that token is what grants access to your dreams, you can replace it whenever you like from Profile, then Your data, then Sign out everywhere. Our analytics tooling is cookieless.
